International Copyright Registration

The International Copyright Order safeguards the copyright of citizens or government bodies that are members of the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, the Universal Copyright Convention, and thus India’s TRIPS Agreement. As a result, works from the countries covered by the International Copyright Order are protected in the same way as Indian works are protected in India. India has also joined several international copyright conventions to provide copyright protection for Indian works in foreign countries.

Protection for Indian Copyright in Foreign Countries

Indian copyright laws solely safeguard copyright within the country’s borders. As a result, to ensure that Indian works are protected in other countries, India has joined the following international copyright conventions:

Protection of Foreign Copyright in India
